Smack wins JFN, MCWL contracts to help bring Decision Dominance to the DoD

The JFN and MCWL contracts total over seven figures and mark a milestone in bringing Decision Dominance to the Department of Defense.

Smack Technologies has been awarded two prototyping contracts from the Joint Fires Network (JFN) and the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab (MCWL). 

Both contracts underscore the Department's recognition that the current kill chain is vulnerable to disruption and too slow to adapt in high-tempo, multi-domain operations. Smack’s core tech stack, Omega, directly addresses this fragility by introducing resilience and speed into Joint Fires execution. 

Omega uses advanced RL models and real-time computer vision to process multimodal data streams, rapidly generating COAs in minutes and plan repairs in seconds to restore lethality and continuity across the kill chain.‍

JFN and MCWL prototyping contracts

For JFN, Smack is developing a Predictive ISR capability built on Omega. The decision to bring Smack in as the JFN’s first early-stage startup signals a bold commitment to innovation, and it exemplifies the Department’s evolving software acquisition strategy under the SecDef’s guidance.

Smack’s prototype system synchronizes sensor collection with long-range fires planning and battle damage assessment, using machine-to-machine orchestration and multi-INT data fusion (EO, SAR, ELINT). The goal is simple: to put decision-makers ahead of the adversary’s decision cycle and deliver insight and action faster than traditional tools limited by stale data in an inbox.

For MCWL, our solution leverages Omega to support campaign-level decision-making through generative AI, 4D operational simulations, and proprietary models for weaponeering, aerial refueling, and SEAD. We aim to link tactical actions to strategic outcomes and incorporate Allies and partners directly into Joint Fires planning. Our ambition is to be in production on both efforts by the end of the year. 


Bringing Decision Dominance to the DoD

In modern peer-to-peer combat, Decision Dominance will be a deciding factor for the US and Allied forces. 

Decision Dominance refers to our ability to analyze and contextualize vast streams of structured and unstructured data—including sensor data—to make the right decisions across the Kill Chain faster, more accurately, and more effectively than our adversaries.
